La Reale and La Paesana (F.lli Paudice), ICAB's historic brands, are back in the spotlight

Arriving on the shelf more beautiful than ever, with a hint of excitement and healthy southern pride, the historic labels La Reale and La Paesana (F.lli Paudice), brought back to life thanks to a shrewd study and a restyling that respects tradition.

In addition to La Fiammante, ICAB - Industrie Conserve Alimentari Buccino in the 1970s chose to take over and protect the two historical brands La Paesana (F.lli Paudice) and La Reale (1930 - 1940), which represent the canning history of Made in Italy in the South.

The tomato paste of the Neapolitan ragù

La Reale and La Paesana tomato preserves have been well known in Naples for at least 4 generations. For reasons unknown, in particular, La Paesana tomato paste (F.lli Paudice) has always been traditionally used in the city center to prepare the Sunday Ragù, while La Reale tomato is generally appreciated mainly in the hinterland and neighboring towns.

La Reale Peeled

All families in Naples keep the memory of the small 180g and 120g tins, always present in the pantries, sought after in the delicatessens on Fridays for the preparation of the very famous Neapolitan ragù with traditional concentrate.

Few people know, however, that it is in the ICAB La Fiammante plant in Buccino, in the province of Salerno, on the outskirts of Cilento, that that much-loved tomato paste has actually been produced for 50 years now (along with peeled tomatoes and tomato puree), with the same attention to quality as the 100% Italian tomatoes from short supply chain used for La Fiammante preserves.

La Paesana Tomatoes (F.lli Paudice)

Beyond the protection of the brands, today ICAB chooses to promote the quality of this processing (which continues with particular dedication in the use, for example, of traditional copper boules to concentrate the tomato juice), to keep the memory alive and to pay homage to it, with a conservative restyling of the logos and historical labels, on which the original wording "pomidoro" stands out, instead of the more modern "tomatoes."

Thus, after extensive research on fonts (faithful to the originals), here shine the strokes of the logos, the colors of the labels, and the beautiful images of the "paesana" and the tomatoes, faithfully redrawn with 'al tratto' style for La Reale and with 'pictorial style' for La Paesana.
